Payment & Checkout Security Information
Since the launch of our store in 2009, our checkout has always employed the industry-leading security of PayPal to process payments, be it payments from PayPal account holders, or payments from those using a card.
Utilizing the PayPal 'Guest Checkout' feature, we are gladly able to accept all major card types i.e. Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover, etc. For further details on how to pay by card at checkout, please click here.
Our Checkout Security
SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) is the current standard of creating an encrypted secure link between a website's server and a person's browsing device (browsing device meaning a computer, laptop, tablet, or smartphone).
When SSL is installed on a website's server, anyone visiting that website will notice that both the 'padlock' and the 'https://' protocols are present within the URL address bar at the top of the web-browser (common examples of web-browsers being; Google Chrome, Apple Safari, Microsoft Internet Explorer, etc.). What this visual confirmation of an SSL connection signifies, is that the data passing between the website's server and the device of the person viewing the website is both fully secure and completely private.
In the past, SSL encryption was reserved solely to secure a website's most sensitive aspects of data exchange e.g. payment transactions and account logins. However, in today's age of the internet, SSL is deployed site-wide on the vast majority of websites.
At Icariin Health™ our website is 100% SSL Certified, not only at the checkout stage but throughout the entire website. This means that from the moment you land on our website to the moment you leave, you can enjoy browsing in full confidence of site-wide SSL privacy the entire time.
PCI DSS stands for 'Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard'. This standard was created to increase controls around payment card data, thus minimizing the possibility of fraud via exposure of such data.
Any online store wishing to receive payments via credit card or debit card must adhere and be fully PCI DSS compliant. Compliance is reviewed by the applicable PCI Security Standards Council on an annual basis for all online businesses.
There are six categories of PCI standards that must be met for any online retailer to remain compliant. These are as follows:
- Build and Maintain a Secure Network
- Protect Cardholder Data
- Maintain a Vulnerability Management Program
- Implement Strong Access Control Measures
- Regularly Monitor and Test Networks
- Maintain an Information Security Policy
The checkout of our online store is hosted by the fully PCI DSS compliant eCommerce platform provider called Shopify, which meets all six of the aforementioned PCI security requirements.
In the year 2000, PayPal defined the world of online payment security. This extensive experience enables them to offer unmatched fraud protection, including:
- Address Verification
- Risk Screening
- Card Verification
- 128-bit Encryption
- 3-D Secure 2.0 Authentication
Due to how PayPal works, we at Icariin Health™ never directly handle customer bank or card details. When a customer pays for their order, we solely receive the details required to process and dispatch the order i.e. name, address, contact info, and details of the products ordered.
Safe shopping is a vital factor for the success of any online business, which is why we entrust PayPal to handle all the payments that we take.
We Do Not Offer 'Product/Order Subscription' Services
That's correct, we do not run any sort of 'product/order subscription' type services, nor can we repeat an order for you on your behalf. We do not keep or have access to customer payment details, those are handled securely by PayPal (as per the information provided above). We only have access to customer contact and address details, required for order dispatch.
When you make a purchase with us, the order is simply shipped out to you and then closed off. If at a later date you wish to repeat your order, you will then need to revisit our website and place a completely brand new order by checking-out again in the usual way.
